Props and Set Dressing

Creating props is a true passion of mine, from conceptualization to bringing the vision to life through handiwork. Every step of the process brings me joy, and I take meticulous care to produce the best possible outcome.

Sleeping Beauty Cake

I created this cake as a playful photo opportunity for the launch of a makeup collection. To achieve this, I constructed a PVC pipe and wooden base, expertly stacked sculpted foam layers, and covered them in grouting to mimic frosting. Finally, I added piped “frosting” for decoration and painted the entire cake to make it appear as though it had leaped straight off the page.

As a personal project, I crafted these charming mushroom hats by starting with large sun hats as the base and layering them with cardboard for added stability. Next, I paper-mâchéd the entire structure and added lightweight shackles before sanding them down to a sleek finish. Finally, I meticulously painted and added three-dimensional spots, and then recreated the gills with fabric to complete the final look.

Mushroom Hats

I had the wonderful opportunity to oversee the set dressing for a stunning Sleeping Beauty-inspired makeup collection. This encompassed managing the budget and procuring an extensive array of props to bring the vision to life. Additionally, I skillfully arranged the props and remained on set to provide insight and advice on enhancing the overall prop aesthetic.
